  • Auchtermuchty Common

    Auchtermuchty Common is approx 30 acres of land lying just to the north of Auchtermuchty in Fife, Scotland. The common is managed by the Macduff Trust which was set up by the old Town Council, the original Trustees were Town Councillors. Ownership now resides with the Trust who maintain the common for public use and its special conservation value as unimproved grassland.

    Birnie and Gaddon Lochs near Collessie are joined by a network of paths with plenty of rest areas and a picnic site at the main car park which offers excellent views across Birnie Loch. We also maintain two bird hides at the site, keys are available on request. The site is ideal for family recreational use including walking, bird watching and picnics.

    The garden has been described as a 'hidden gem' of Scotland. It is a stunning all weather family destination. A new tropical butterfly experience opened in March 2016. The gardens offer an eduational programme to schools and activities for children and families during the school holidays.

    Founded in October 1993, the primary charitable object of Castle Furniture Project is to provide free or low cost household goods to disadvantaged families and individuals to relieve poverty and indebtness in Fife. To that end, the project provides the transport and labour to collect donations free of charge from people throughout Fife. These donations are brought to the warehouse where they are sorted, assessed for condition, repaired where possible, renovated when feasible, and displayed in our warehouse in Cupar.     Furniture Projects provides a free collection service for reuse furniture throughout Fife and provides low-cost, discounted or free furniture to Fife residents - 20% discount for housing benefit and council tax benefit and 5% discount for members. There are items also free for uplift at both Cupar and Glenrothes sites. Placement referrals are taken from self-referrals and other agencies.     CONNECT is a community group for adults of all ages. It's about people connecting with other people and enjoying themselves.   • Coul Reservoir Glenrothes

    Coul Den is a shallow loch with landscaped ponds, and an impressive path network. The site provides excellent opportunities for education and quiet recreation. The walk around the loch is about 0.75 miles. For the more adventurous the site can also be a good starting point for a trek to the summit of East Lomond, about 2 miles away. The site car park can be reached by turning north off Tanna Drive. The site can also be reached by walking from the car park at the top of Moidart Drive.

  • Crail in Bloom

    Crail in Bloom is a group of volunteers who plant and care for the tubs and troughs of flowers on Crail's main streets. The aim is to make the town more colourful and attractive for both residents and visitors. The main cost is covered by fund raising events such as coffee mornings and plant sales. Every year since the group was formed, Crail in Bloom has entered the Beautiful Fife Campaign and in 2015 achieved a Gold Award.

  • Crail Preservation Society

    The objectives of the Crail Preservation Society are to preserve the architecture and historical character and ambience of Crail, to improve and maintain the amenity thereof and to co-operate with and support the work of the trustees of Crail Museum. Crail Preservation Society have also taken responsibility for the provision and maintenance of the hanging baskets that now adorn the town and are also promoting a number of projects that will enhance the environment.

  • Cullaloe Nature Reserve

    Cullaloe is a Local Nature Reserve as well as being part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Cullaloe originally had two reservoirs, one of which has been drained. Willow scrub now thrives here, and there are areas of open water, wildflower meadow and marsh. Lapwings and sedge warblers breed here, and great crested grebes and teals visit during winter. The path to the viewing screen is wheelchair accessible.

    The Community Council holds its regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 7.30pm in Dalgety Parish Church Hall and discusses a wide variety of matters of local interest.
