    The Club was founded in 1930 and has always encouraged boating of all kinds – canoes, rowing, power boats and sailing. We have an active racing and cruising programme and the village's annual Regatta is one of the biggest events of the Forth.     Aberdour Castle served as a residence for three noble families over a period of 500 years: the Mortimers, the Randolphs and the Douglases. The present complex of roofed buildings and ruined structures perfectly illustrates how a medieval castle could be extended and modified over time. On the grounds there are also walled and terraced gardens and parkland. Features of interest include an attractive beehive-shaped dovecot.
